I downloaded the film scans from Katie & Matt’s beautiful Hawaii wedding, and thought I’d share a few to kick off the weekend! Enjoy
dreamy film sneak peek…
Katie + Matt | part 1
A few weeks ago I was incredibly honored to have the opportunity to photograph Katie and Matt’s wedding in Maui! Yes, that’s right – while everyone in St. Louis was bundling up in the wind and a few inches of snow, I was living it up on a beach with some of the coolest and most fun people I know [several of which I had photographed before!] One big happy family, a warm and impossibly beautiful location, life is good
The day before the wedding I went on a little road trip with Katie and Matt from our resort to Iao Valley State Park for a fun session with just the two of them surrounded by lush beauty. I love all of these
Courtney + Eric | New Years Eve Wedding
I know it’s been a few weeks and everyone has already abandoned their resolutions, but I’m taking you all back to New Years Eve. More specifically to Courtney and Eric’s wedding! Unseasonably warm and incredibly sunny, the day went smoothly and beautifully. And I took a ton of photos. Sorry. [notsorry]
After their ceremony at St. Cecilia’s we headed just a few blocks south to Carondelet Park Boat House to take full advantage of the beautiful weather:
love this one
Courtney was radiant that day [though I'm not surprised. I'm pretty sure she's radiant every day
]
LOVE this bouquet shot [Tina did them, so of course they're amazing
]
the light was just spectacular [which made this photographer exceptionally happy]
I’m in love with pretty much every one on the pier. . . [or since we're in St. Louis, is it more of a 'dock'?'
the sun quickly dipped below the horizon, and the lights on Washington Avenue came on. . .
Their reception was at the Missouri Athletic Club, and Courtney and Eric got a little preview of the room [with some antics, of course. they're a fun couple
]
THE PARTY. Oh, the party. It was lively and hilarious, all evening, well past the ball drop!
this series above with the mother of the bride makes me laugh every time! [check out Courtney's reaction, bottom right]
2012!!!
The party kept going – the clock striking midnight changed nothing. Case in point, this was one of the last shots I took:
Courtney and Eric, thank you so much for a perfect way to close out 2011!
dogs are fun.
Shortly after Christmas I met up with a few families for a big combined family photo. Yes, it was December, but it was sunny and about 50 degrees, and the trees were still green! What an insane winter we’ve been having…

Of course their dogs were included too! And since it’s my blog and I can do what I want to, here are more of the cutest family members:

Jessica + Kevin | married
There’s nothing to describe a winter wedding to get the true feeling of it. Cold and grey outside, like winter in Paris; warm and cozy on the inside. Jessica and Kevin had the epitome of a December wedding: a gorgeous, historic venue, classic color palette, intimate guest list. A perfect way to party during the holiday season!
I started the day with Jessica and her ladies in her hotel suite at the Renaissance Grand:
stunning Kate Spade slingbacks, and a J. Crew necklace I was [and still am] obsessed with. love.
they have a fun sense of humor
love the shot on the left! one of my faves of the day.
the wind blew around her veil and perfectly gauzy Amsale gown; love the windy veil shots!
we took a break from the chilly weather and grabbed a few shots in the beautiful Statler Ballroom [where just a few feet behind me their whole reception was being set up!]
I adored her bouquet – especially the silvery dusty miller. Tina did a beeeeuuuutiful job!
Jessica was without a doubt a stunning bride!
gah! love her dreamy dress in these

Time to get married! The room on the top floor of the Renaissance couldn’t have been more perfect.
LOVE those cute programs! M. Haley Design did an impeccable job, as always!
The ballroom is just. . . gorgeous. Katie and Jessica did a beautiful job of dressing it up!
their cake topper was the cutest! it even had a tiny ‘Poppy’ since she couldn’t join in on the festivities
[oh, and Jessica MADE all of the delicate paper flowers for each place setting. mad props.]
the whole day was magical and perfect. Congratulations Jessica and Kevin!
Jesse + Warwick | engaged
Our moms had been friends for years, before we were even born. We lived a few hours away, but still our families found time a few times a year to swim in pools and have fun. I’ve known Jesse for, technically, all of her life, and I couldn’t be more happy for her that she’s engaged! And I’m honored that they’ve asked me to photograph her and Warwick’s wedding next year.
They live in Chicago, so lucky me got to go there to shoot their engagement session! We started in their neighborhood, then headed downtown for some holiday shopping hubbub and millions of tiny lights that made everything seem magical.
published :: style me pretty
I’m still in love with the beauty of Shannon + Will’s gorgeous wedding, and I’m incredibly honored to have it published on Style Me Pretty!
Happy Holidays!!!
It’s almost time!! I LOVE having fun Christmas cards to send out, and this year is one of my favorites! It makes me giggle
I’m taking a few days off from the blog and editing to enjoy some Christmas-y time with my family, but I’ll be back soon with a gorgeous wedding to share!
it’s sparkly around here this time of year.
I love decorating for Christmas! This time of year I’m pretty much obsessed with it; watching HGTV specials, buying up every Martha Stewart magazine devoted to the subject, pinning pretty crafty decor on Pinterest for planned projects [that never really get finished. maybe next year. . .]. Each year my house looks pretty much the same, maybe with more shiny stuff added, but I still love it

See how things have changed [or not changed] over the past few years! 2010, 2009, 2008
Sasha + Blake | engaged
I love when couples include their furbaby in their engagement shoot! Sasha and Blake brought along their Charlie, the very handsome and funny Shih-Tzu. He’s fun to photograph [oh, and I guess Sasha and Blake aren't bad either
]
